We can choose to stop being victims

Since the dawn of time crime has been a problem.  Let’s face it Humans are a disgusting animal.  We lie, cheat, steal, and kill.  So living close to other humans is fraught with danger.  Unfortunately living close to other humans is also unavoidable that is why every society on earth grapples with some level of crime.  Over the years different schools of thought have emerged about the best way to reduce crime.  Liberals like the hug a thug approach.  It doesn’t reduce crime but it does discourage people from reporting crime which give the illusion of less crime.

If you read my blog you understand that I am not a liberal.  My attitude to solving problems is to, well, solve problems.  I have never understood how covering up or denying a problem makes it go away.  My desire to solve actual problems makes me wholly unsuited for politics or government employment.  That is why my “solution” to crime does not look like what our governments do now.

The first thing to note is that my solution is not really a solution.  You cannot eliminate crime.  As long as there a humans there will be crime.  It is in our nature.  What you can do is change the demographics of the victims.  My solution is to put criminals in prison and leave them in prison where they can only commit crimes against other criminals.

Putting criminals in prison should be a no brainer.  If you put criminals in prison they do not have the opportunity to repeat their crimes; at least not against their previous victims.  Regrettably, too often we choose to allow criminals to repeat their crime.

COVID was a crime.  Everything that happened from the first announcement of the lockdowns up to and including the vaccine programs were part of this enormous crime.  It was a terrible crime for 2 reasons.  There were millions of victims and it was premeditated.  COVID was not a crime of passion.  It was carefully planned and carried out with the cooperation of hundreds of criminals.  The COVID criminals are not run of the mill criminals.  They have militaries and military alliances to use as weapons.

The ringleaders of this crime wield the kind of power that makes them difficult to pursue.  Still if we don’t want it to happen again it is something we must do.  Yet nearly 5 years later we have done nothing and guess what?  They are testing the waters to see if they might get away with it again.

The teenager hospitalized with bird flu in British Columbia, Canada, may have a variation of the virus that has a mutation making it more transmissible among people, early data shows – a warning of what the virus can do that is especially worrisome in countries such as the US where some H5N1 cases are not being detected.

The virus may have mutated over the course of the teen’s illness; additional sequencing could reveal more about its evolution.

So one sick teenager that may have bird flu because a virus we have never seen may have mutated.  I guess I am to use my imagination to fill in the rest and assume the entire population of earth may be at risk.  Is it just me or are they using the same script?  A scary new virus has appeared.  No doubt the authorities will save us utilizing house arrest and theft, just as they did last time.

I don’t know how far they will take this but I do know they will take it as far as we will let them.  This also won’t be the last time they visit this well.  It only stops when we start putting the ringleaders in prison.
