Morons and Liars

I was without my family this weekend for 3.5 days.  I spent my time alone doing odd jobs around the house.  I did go out.  Twice for groceries and 3 times to the hardware store.  The town was very slow and there were few people in the store each time.  When my family rejoined me on Monday, I had a cold.

So why am I blogging about such a mundane weekend?  Because I think it is a great example of how incredibly stupid lockdowns were.  I was under a self-imposed lockdown for 4 days.  Grocery and hardware stores are essential services and were open during the official lockdowns.  Other than my time in these stores, I had no contact with anyone.  Even in the stores I had very little contact with anyone else.  I was locked down yet I still got an airborne respiratory virus.

Politicians are trying to re-write history right now.  We are to believe that the only mistake they made was not locking down earlier.  What poppycock.  My self-imposed lockdown couldn’t even keep me healthy for 4 days.  Partial lockdowns were obviously not going to work.  Only a moron could have thought that they would.  So, why did the most senior people in our governments think they would work?  Are they all morons or were they always lying?

It doesn’t matter how you answer those questions.  Neither answer bodes well for our future.  No society can survive being government by morons and liars.
