Tilting the field in favor of the Criminals

The province of British Columbia passed bill 36 the Health Professions and Occupations act in 2022 but many of the provisions do not come into effect until April of 2026.  I don’t know which provisions will be coming into effect, but I pulled up the bill to give it a quick scan and there are some provisions people should be concerned with.  Clause 213 gives the health minister the power to set practice standards and determine what Doctors are allowed to say to their patients

May set practice requirements

213 (1) The minister may, in a designation regulation, make regulations respecting the following:

(b) the types of information that must, or must not, be provided by regulated health service providers to patients or the public;

(c) practice standards for the purposes of protecting the public from harm.

Bill 36 relegated the Nuremburg code to the trash.  Informed consent is no longer a thing.  Doctors in British Columbia will now be prevented from providing information that the government does not want the patient to see. And, in the event of a public health emergency doctors will be told what services they are allowed to provide.

333 (1) The provincial health officer may make a scope of practice order if the provincial health officer is of the opinion

(ii) the scope of health services that can be provided,

I don’t know about you but after this I can’t help but think they are planning to do it again.  They are putting in place rules that allow them to silence doctors and dictate treatment protocols.  Criminals don’t stop committing crimes until you send them to prison.  No one has gone to prison over COVID so they will not stop.  They will do it again, and again, and again.
