Does democracy exist?

Germany took in over 1 million “refugees” from Syria when the civil war started.  I have put the word refugee in quotes because the people who arrived in Germany were not refugees.  They were young military age men seeking welfare.  The Syrian civil war has been over for a long time now and Germany wants these men to go home.  The problem is that none of the young Syrian men abusing German kindness want to go home.  And that is perfectly OK with Syria who doesn’t want them back.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s claim that Syria supports large-scale returns of its nationals has been contradicted by the country’s interim president.

The myth about immigration is that immigrants make an economy stronger.  I call it a myth because that in no way applies to the overwhelming majority of immigrants in the 21st century.  If those million young Syrian men were making the German economy stronger, Germany would want to keep them while Syria would be eager to have them back.

The dirty little secret about Immigration is that it is always win/lose.  If we take the best and the brightest from other countries we win and they lose.  If we take on people the other country doesn’t want, we lose and they win.  This is a sad fact that Western people refuse to understand but non-western countries do understand.  The Indian High commissioner is on record expressing his desire to send 60 million Indians to Canada.

High Commissioner said Canada’s population needs to increase by a staggering 150 per cent, insisting India should fill the gap.

The Commissioner said India could help Canada reach that goal by providing 60 million new immigrants.

His rather bizarre position that it is his job to set Canadian immigration targets makes me wonder.  Why is he so eager to get rid of 60 million of his citizens?  If those 60 million people would be so beneficial to Canada, are they not already highly beneficial to India?  Any sane person knows the answer to that question.  The people he wishes to send to Canada do not benefit India.  He is trying to make his problem, Canada’s problem.  He wants to win and Canada to lose.

Canadians are usually stupid enough to choose the losing position.  But things are slowly changing even in Canada.  The latest polls show the most immigration friendly country on earth is starting to sour on immigration.  Canadians are finally questioning how people who shit on the streets and lie about their qualification help Canada.  That should be a good thing.  It should mean Canadians will exercise their democratic right to direct the government.

But that won’t happen because in Canada Democracy is a cruel façade.  What people want is never considered.  Even parliament has no real power.  The power in Canada resides in the courts who decide long ago that Canada can’t turn anyone away.

Many reasonable people would argue it’s patently absurd that Canada even agrees to hear refugee claims from citizens of the EU, though the Supreme Court has ruled we owe literally everyone a hearing.

Rowe argued successfully that the immigration officer who refused to stay her removal last November didn’t properly consider an expert report on how deportees are treated in Jamaica when he turned down her pre-removal risk assessment (PRRA)

This report, authored by Luke de Noronha, provides an analysis of various issues affecting deportees in Jamaica, including access to health care, housing, employment, vulnerability to violence, stigma, and the lack of resources, social assistance or programs,”

There is nothing in the founding documents or Canadian law that says Canada must take everyone or that we cannot deport someone just because they won’t get welfare and health care in their home country.  But that does not matter to Canadian courts.  They abandoned law and common sense long ago.  Canadian Courts have effectively removed the “Demos” from Democracy.

The word “democracy” comes from two Greek words that mean people (demos) and rule (kratos). Democracy is the idea that the citizens of a country should take an active role in the government of their country and manage it directly or through elected representatives.

In Canada the “Demos” no longer matter.  Of course, without “demos” all we are left with is “kratos”.  Or in other world we have rules that people cannot change.  That is typical of dictatorships.  It is not supposed to happen in democracies, so we really need to ask if Canada is a democracy?  Were we ever a democracy?
