We are past the point where nice can be an option
Reimmigration is now being discussed even in woke countries like Canada and with good reason. Citizens of First World nations have finally realized that our governments are lying about immigration. You cannot fix problems caused by declining native birth rates by bringing in people who are not net contributors.

Mass immigration is the quickest way to collapse a modern welfare state. This should be obvious to everyone yet some governments like Canada are still encouraging foreigners to show up and demand services.
The feds are using the fact health care in Canada is free to try and lure immigrants to come to the country.
You might wonder why the Canadian government would promise health care to attract immigrants that the economy does not need and that will forever burden the state. Sadly, the questionable actions of the Canadian government always have the same motivation, corruption. Our current immigration system harms the country but benefits individuals. It benefits the immigrant but more importantly it financially benefits people connected to the government.

And this is not a uniquely Canadian problem. The entire western world is being destroyed so that people in and connected to government can make money.
The machine is self-reinforcing. Ministries measure virtue by euros or dollars spent, not migrants integrated. NGOs depend on inflows to fund payrolls. When migration dips, budgets shrink; when it surges, the system thrives. Western border regimes now behave like any other subsidy scheme: failure pays.
illegal migration happens because people profit from it. The western world is being destroyed by greed. At this point stopping it will not save us from bankruptcy. We already have an unsustainable problem. Anyone who can do math knows the only way to keep the welfare state from bankruptcy is to push people out of the system. You can let the system collapse and push everyone, including citizens, out. Or you can start sending people home.
Politicians and bureaucrats have put us in a position where there is no nice or charitable way to save our countries. We must stop being a door mat that benefit shoppers wipe their feet on. We need to start sending people home and then we need to deal with the greedy elites that put us in this position.
