Hoping for truth in 2026

This morning I saw this video of a man dropping truth bombs about Russia.  The truth is a precious commodity.  We rarely get it, that is what made this video so refreshing.  The Truth is that Russia has not been harmed by their war in the Ukraine.  We were told that the expense of the war and sanctions would cripple Russia, yet the opposite is true.  Russia is in good shape financially and is likely to win the war.

This is not at all surprising to me.  I have written multiple blog posts about the war expressing my opinion that Russia will win and that there is nothing that we can do that will change that.  It is true that the first casualty of war is the truth, so I do not have any special intel, nor do I have specialized military knowledge.  I just have common sense.  Russia is larger and more powerful than the Ukraine.  Even with our help Ukraine can’t win largely because we are not as powerful as we think.

To win a protracted war you need 2 things, a strong manufacturing base and a strong military.  The west has neither.

The truth is precious; it is also hard for many people to accept.  The truth is that Russia is griding out a slow win in the Ukraine.  That is what makes a peace deal so difficult.  The west does not want to accept the truth.  Our childish leaders think they can force conditions on Russia.  Why would Russia do that?  They are winning and they know it.  Russia does not need to make any concessions.

Putin does not need to agree to anything.  If Trump can get this done, then he really is a master deal maker.  I am sure none of the other western leaders will like this deal, but children should really be seen and not heard.  Especially when it comes to war.

If you wish for anything in the New Year, wish for truth.  We live in an age of disinformation, and the most prolific disseminators of lies are our own governments.  They don’t just lie about the Ukraine war they lie about everything.  In this interview Mark Carney propagates the lie that expensive energy is good for an economy.  When Mark Carney is not lying about the negative financial impact of his ridiculous climate policies he is lying about everything else.  Carney loves to give interviews claiming that the Canadian economy has never been better.  This too is a lie.  There is not a single metric that supports Carney’s rosy assessment of the Canadian economy.

Let 2026 be the year of truth.  It is not as hard as you think.  Just start by ignoring the liars.  In Canada the liars are not even that had to spot.  Most of them, like Carney, use the title of “Right Honorable”.
