It is not science but it is evil

Climate alarmists tell us that the world will end if we do not keep the earth from warming more than 1.5 degrees over pre-industrial times.  There are many problems with this statement that the public is not aware of.

  • The starting point that they have picked is the start of the industrial revolution which just happens to be the middle of the little ice age. Alarmists have conveniently picked a starting point that is the coldest period since the last ice age.
  • As far as we can tell the Roman optimum and medieval warm period were both warmer than that and the earth was not destroyed.
  • The switch from thermometers to thermistors for remote monitoring has introduced a measurement discrepancy of as much as +0.7 degrees or half of the target.

These are all good reasons to dismiss the alarmist claims but the best reason to ignore their 1.5 degree doomsday scenario is that they are trying to measure something that can’t be measured and is meaningless anyway.

Bjarne Andresen, a thermodynamics expert at the prestigious Niels Bohr Institute, stated unequivocally: “It is impossible to talk about a single temperature for something as complicated as the climate of Earth. A temperature can be defined only for a homogeneous system.” He noted that attempting to average temperatures across Earth’s climate “would correspond to calculating the average phone number in the phone book. That is meaningless.”

The physics is clear: global temperature is thermodynamically impossible. The mathematics is proven: temperature averaging is arbitrary and meaningless.

Trying to measure a global temperature is a huge logistical problem.  There are some places that we just don’t monitor.  But, even if we could monitor everywhere, does it mean anything?  The thermodynamic problem is that temperature is not a direct measurement of heat.  In a pure substance it is, but the earth is not a pure substance.  It takes less energy to warm up a gas than it does to warm a liquid or a solid.  We tend to monitor air temperature but changes do not mean the earth has gained or lost heat energy.  It could simply be that the heat energy is now in a different place.

This can be very confusing because it is not something most people think about but in some occupations it happens all the time.  I do a lot of work in gas plants.  Gas plants are constantly changing liquids to gas and gas to liquids.  This is done by transferring heat energy from one source to the other.  Moving one direction liberates heat the other takes heat.  When this is done without adding or taking energy it results in a temperature change.  The mixture has the same total heat energy but the temperature is different.

We are destroying economies over a meaningless measurement that is almost impossible to take.  I wish I could tell you that the climate movement is no worse than people who have no idea what they are talking about or doing.  Sadly it is much worse than that.  The climate charlatans are taking these meaningless, error filled measurements and adjusting them up to build a false narrative.

When you hear a claim of “hottest ever” it is not based on the raw data, the blue line that shows no trend.  It is based on the adjusted data, the red line that has been altered to show a trend where none exists.

Isn’t this comforting?  You are paying carbon taxes and are being forced to buy EVs over a meaningless number that they don’t even use.  They use the adjusted numbers that are basically pulled out of their ass.  This is not science.  It is also not about saving the planet.  There is only one world for it.  This is fraud on a monumental scale.

It has been obviously fraud since at least the early 90s when I first started paying attention to the topic. But as Mark Twain says, “It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled”.
